Lactalis Canada's Laverlochère plant celebrates its 100th anniversary

Established in Laverlochère by two members of the Lafrenière family, the Lactalis plant celebrated its 100th anniversary on October 2. This milestone event highlights a century of history and the major role the site plays in the Canadian dairy industry. As part of the celebrations, a donation of $10,000 was made to the Club des petits déjeuners at Latulipe and Lorrainville schools.


Île aux Pousses ready-to-eat salads now available year-round

L'île aux Pousses owner Karine Rannou is on a roll. The Duhamel-Ouest-based grower of a wide variety of microgreens is officially launching a line of ready-to-eat salads. This addition to her offering was born of the success of a project initiated in the summer of 2024. Grown in a sustainable manner, micrograin salads are prepared with certified gluten-free and lactose-free ingredients.


Ferme JMA Gauthier: A pioneer in organic dairy production in the region

In 2020, Ferme JMA Gauthier in Lorrainville began its transition to organic management. Co-owner Annick Gauthier is now a pioneer in the region, offering the first certified organic milk. Nearby Le Fromage au Village sells its milk in bottles and processes some of it into cheese. Projects abound for this entrepreneur, who is determined to rise to any challenge.

Owner Michelle Sabater also offers her customers a fresh produce counter, a wide variety of frozen convenience foods and much more.

On June 5, the Centre de rénovation FLD de Témiscaming celebrated the integration of Caroline and Roxanne Major into the family business. On the same occasion, the family business inaugurated the first Batteries Expert franchise in Temiscaming, a boutique offering various types of batteries and portable and alternative energy solutions.
